Published on: 6th September, 2025

The second week of the football season saw a dramatic overtime win at Fayetteville, dominating performances by Bentonville and Rogers, bounce-back wins for Springdale and Bentonville West with Har-Ber earning coach Aaron Danenhauer his first win.

Among the smaller schools, Shiloh Christian, Berryville, Grove and Cave Springs won their season openers. Green Forest spoiled the debut of West Fork coach Stuart McKinzie, who we spoke with during our segment. Two of the three Arkansas-Oklahoma rivalry games were won by the Sooner State contingents, and Dardanelle handed Elkins its first regular season defeat in three years.

The cross-country season started September 2 as Northwest Arkansas Community College hosted the Take Flight Invitational high school meet. The Providence Academy girls are poised to defend their Class 3A state championship and started with a stellar performance in its opening meet. Coach Daniel Ramsey spoke about his program's success and hopes for the upcoming season.

We close with a brief update on the golf and volleyball seasons. Bentonville continues to impress in both sports, with junior Grace Abbruzzese carding a hole-in-one to lead the Lady Tigers past Rogers in their tournament at Bella Vista.
